Tamil filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran's Mark Antony is turning out to be a sensational success at the box office as audiences continue to throng the cinemas even on the weekdays to watch Vishal and S J Suryah deliver explosive action and fun on the big screen. With both the stars receiving praise for their power-packed performances in the time travel sci-fi film, the direction and screenwriting have also been receiving appreciation from fans and critics alike. Among the several big highlights in Vishal and S J Suryah's Mark Antony, the flashback sequence has been mentioned by many to be quite serious compared to the rest of the film, with director Adhik in an exclusive interview with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, opening up on the reason.

Adhik explained, "I made sure the flashback scenes and episodes should be very serious. I could play around with anything else, but the flashback had to be extremely serious. Be it Antony's flashback and the scenario of the child being born or him going and saving the girls, and the Karuppusamy episode, I wanted to be contrast serious. We had a very limited space to tell the flashback." He further said, "By making everything else a little funny and the flashback sequence serious, I believed it would catch the audience's attention. The flashback told in the beginning is very difficult to make the audience believe. It's because they know when they're walking in to watch the film who is grey and white. Irrespective of whether we're able to make them believe, we put in that effort and made it serious."
