Famous actor Prabhu was rushed to Medway Hospitals in Chennai on 20th February night, said the hospital in a press release. The hospital informed that the actor was admitted due to a Kidney problem. After examining, the actor was diagnosed for Kidney stones and was operated on Tuesday morning with laser technology to remove them. The statement said Prabhu is in good health now and is recovering from the surgery. They said he will be discharged from the hospital in two to three days.
The 66-years-old actor was last seen in the hit Vijay film Varisu in the role of a doctor. Prabhu made his debut in 1982 with Sangili and was popular hero in the 90s, in many films including Chinna Thambi, Kizhakku Karai, etc. He's known to act in dual hero roles in movied like Guru Sishyan, K balachander’s Duet. He went on to explore character roles after Vasool Raja MBBS as right hand of Kamal Haassan and Chandramukhi as friend of Rajinikanth. He then became a famous supporting actor has done notable roles in Ayan, Unakum Enakum, Asal, etc. The busy actor has done many roles in 2022, appearing as Periya Velalar Boodhi Vikrama kesari in Ponniyin Selvan, as psychologist in Naane Varuvaen and other roles in The Legend, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal and played a cop in the recent Vishal film Lathi.
Prabhu crossed the milestone of being a part of 200 films with the Rom-com movie Meen Kolambum Maan Paanaiyum and has also won many awards, including Filmfare Awards South and reputed Tamil Nadu State Award thrice. The actor is the son of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan and Prabhu’s son Vikram Prabhu has also become a leading actor in the industry known for doing fast-paced thriller movies. Prabhu is famously called by his fans as Ilayathilagam and the industry looks forward to the recovery of the actor.
