Karthi is a popular actor who is known for his variety in filmography and his recent release of the blockbuster hit film was Ponniyin Selvan 2. The actor has now addressed the public as a part of a campaign by the Chennai Police against drugs. The actor spoke amidst a huge crowd who gathered in Chennai Marina and spoke about how the age at which youngsters begin using drugs has reduced drastically. He said “We used to hear students would only start drinking in colleges. But, now it has changed to school students using drugs and other narcotics." The actor then said to youngsters that at this age they would want to try everything but people but advised them to get into sports. He also requested the government to encourage sports in Tamil Nadu.

Actor Karthi further went on say that parents mostly don't known about the drugs that are available today but young children know about it, And students get into drugs thinking it resembles a power or a trend. He explained that parents should be friendly with their children and speak to their children about how they are doing, their peers and monitor the usage of mobile phones. He further went on to say that society also played a huge part in the drug problems and that he was informed that drugs are also present in thinners and whiteners and so vendors must be socially responsible before selling them near schools. As the popular actor Karthi has voiced out the concerns against drugs in the public event, this event has become viral.

On the work front, actor Karthi has an exciting film in line titled Japan. The film has the actor playing an anti-hero character, who is a speculated to be a notorious robber. The film helmed by Rajumurgan of Cuckoo, Joker and Gypsy fame will be released in theatres this Diwali. The film will also make the landmark 25th movie of the actor and will be released in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada apart from Tamil. A teaser from the film was released last month by the production house bankrolling Dream Warrior Pictures.
