Ajith Kumar popularly called by his fans 'Thala', lost his father P. Subramaniam also known as P.S. Mani in the early hours of 24th March. An official statement was released in the morning that he died due to a health issue and that he was suffering from various ailments over the last few years because of a stroke. Ajith Kumar and his two brothers Anup Kumar and Anil Kumar had said earlier that they want the last rites of their father to be private and said they want to mourn the loss of their father privately. Many important political people including the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Opposition leader Edappadi Palaniswami, O Pannerselvam and other political leaders shared their condolences. Minister and popular actor Udhayanidhi Stalin said he visited Ajith Kumar and his family’s at their residence and condoled their death.
The last ritual of Ajith Kumar’s father PS Mani is said to have taken place at Besant Nagar. A video has surfaced on the internet that shows the star looking glum and exiting the house to his car.
