The Tamil film industry has churned out some highly successful movies over the years that turned out to be great hits. They are thoughtfully and clearly written out as an intention to draw the audience's attention and make them come to the theatres. But there are also a fair share of movies which were expanded from short films. These short films gained such a positive response that its director decided to make it into a feature length film. These film became trendsetters and established the trend of short filmmakers making their cinematic debut as well. Let us look at some of these short films which were later made into a full length film:

1) KADHALIL SODHAPPUVADHU YEPPADI (KADHALIL SODHAPPUVADHU YEPPADI):

The film revolves around Arun (Siddharth) who has a tiff with his girlfriend Parvathi (Amala Paul) and does not know how to make up to her for it. All his attempts to patch up backfires and the only result is them moving further away from one another. Arun is really desperate because life without Parvathi is not the same. The film takes a light and frothy new look at romance and relationships.

2) PIZZA (PIZZA):

Director - Karthik Subbaraj

This horror film tells the story of Michael (Vijay Sethupathi), a pizza delivery boy, who lives with Anu (Remya Nambeesan), an aspiring horror fiction writer. The feature film version has an additional element of the relationship between the Pannaiyar and his wife and it was indeed heartwarming to watch. In fact, the cute and romantic segments between the elderly couple was the takeaway of the movie.

4) MUNDASUPATTI (MUNDASUPATTI):
