According to latest reports, popular comedy actor Thavasi passed away today (November 23) around 8.05 PM. This news will definitely break the hearts of the people across the state who prayed for his recovery. A few days before, the fans were taken aback seeing Thavasi's current physical state. He was affected with cancer and was getting treated at a hospital. Thavasi looked very skinny and weak due to his health problems. He had requested for financial aid and support from fellow actors from the film industry. Notable actors like Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, STR, Robo Shankar, and others lent their helping hand to Thavasi and talked to him personally to comfort him.

However, it is unfortunate that he is no more with us. His demise has made a lot of fans sad who are expressing and sharing their condolence messages on social media. Thavasi will be best known for portraying the character of Soori's father in Sivakarthikeyan's Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, directed by Ponram. His dialogue, "Karuppan Kusumbukkaran", will forever be etched in the hearts of the Tamil audience and it will be one of his memorable works.

Thavasi's last on-screen appearance will be in Superstar Rajinikanth's Annaatthe, directed by Siva and produced by Sun Pictures. Thavasi had already finished shooting for his portions in the film.
