Following the success of Lust Stories in Hindi, Netflix streaming platform assembled anthology films in Tamil and Telugu. In Tamil, we got to see the anthology as Paava Kadhaigal, a compilation of four stories that talked about honour killing, sin, LGBTQ, and more. The films were directed by Vetri Maaran, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sudha Kongara, and Vignesh Shivan. The film received good reviews from the critics and audience and it was an intense watch for a lot of people. Following that, it is now time for the Telugu version to be released. Yes! Netflix has officially announced the Telugu anthology which is titled Pitta Kathalu. Like Lust Stories, Pitta Kathalu will also be a take on modern-day relationships from the perspective of a woman.

The makers had planned to have a similar premise for the Tamil version as well, but since Vetri Maaran wanted to do something different, they took up the topic of honour killing and sin stories and we got a different version.

Pitta Kathalu will have four short stories directed by 4 prominent filmmakers - Tharun Bhascker Dhassyam (Pelli Choopulu), Sankalp Reddy (The Ghazi Attack), Nag Ashwin (Mahanati), and Nandini Reddy (Oh Baby). Pitta Kathalu features an ensemble star cast that has Amala Paul, Shruti Haasan, Eesha Rebba, and Lakshmi Manchu playing the four leads in four respective stories. The star cast also includes the likes of Ashwin Kakamanu, Jagapathi Babu, Saanve Megghana, Sanjith Hegde, and others.

The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies, in association with Flying Unicorn Entertainment. The film’s synopsis, as mentioned by the makers, read, “Four different women, four journeys of love and betrayal. The common thread? They all want to dismantle the patriarchy”. The makers have released the teaser of the film which looks quite promising and interesting. The teaser packs a punch and keeps you hooked. The teaser has a good mix of romance, love, intimacy, and emotions and it is packed neatly. We get to see the romantic moments of the leading ladies and it looks like the film is going to deal with the challenges and problems that they face in their relationships.

Netflix has also announced that Pitta Kathalu will be releasing on February 19 in over 190 countries. As Pitta Kathalu is gearing up for a release on February 19, here is the official teaser of the film:
