Narappa, the Telugu remake of Dhanush's critically acclaimed blockbuster hit, Asuran, is all set for release on July 20. Narappa will have a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video on July 20 and the fans are eagerly waiting for the d-day. Asuran is a film that had a dream run at the box office, earning highly positive reviews from the critics and the audience. Director Vetri Maaran turned out to be one of the most sought after filmmakers in the country after Asuran. The Telugu remake of the film is now all set for release and let us see how the film fares among the Telugu audience. Ace actor Venkatesh plays the titular character, reprising Dhanush's role, while Priyamani will be essaying Manju Warrier's role.

Produced by Suresh Productions in association with Kalaippuli S Thanu's V Creations, the film is directed by Sreekanth Addala. Ahead of the film's release, the makers have released a new emotional promo of Narappa and the promo has gone viral among the fans. In this promo, we see a glimpse of the scene where the father character falls at the feet of every male resident in the landlords area. From what we see, it looks like Narappa is mostly a frame-to-frame remake and majority of the core essence seem to have been retained. The reception from the Tamil audience has also been quite good.

The promo also shows us a glimpse of the scene where the father explains the importance of education to his son. Karthik Rathnam will be seen playing Venkatesh's elder son in the film, while Ammu Abhirami has been retained to play the same character she played in the original version. Rao Ramesh, Nassar, Rajeev Kanakala, Vasishta N Simha are also a part of the film's star cast. The film has music composed by Mani Sharma, while the cinematography and editing is handled by Shyam K Naidu and Marthand K Venkatesh respectively.
