Shamili debuts in Malayalam

Remember actress Shalini's younger sister Baby Shamili, who made an amazing portrayal in ace Mani Rathnam’s Anjali as a mentally-challenged child for which she won the prestigious National Award in 1991 at�age three?

Baby Shamili is a darling for all South Indian moviegoers, as she mesmerized audiences with her still remembered stunning performances in all South Indian languages in 90’s. She was last seen in Malayalam with Mammootty and Mohanlal in Fazil's Harikrishnans (1998), where she played the youngest sister of the superstars.

After a 10 year gap, Baby Shamili, a pretty teenager today, is all set to make a comeback to Malayalam with a full-fledged role in Shikari starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead. Shamili will play the role of Mohanlal's s daughter in this film, to be directed by ace Padmakumar. Coincidentally, superstar Mammootty, a professional rival of Mohanlal in Malayalam, is also about to do a Kannada film titled Shikari.

Shamili will also be the heroine in a new Telugu film titled Oie opposite chocolate hero Siddharth. Produced by D.V.V. Danayya under Universal media banner, this romantic love story is directed by debutant Anand Ranga, who earlier assisted Bhaskar in his blockbuster Bommarillu. The shooting is already on from January 16. Oie is expected to hit theatres this summer.

Meanwhile, it is widely expected that Shamili will soon make her debut in Tamil as well and is currently on the lookout for the right Tamil project.
