‘Yugapurushan’ Vijay

Popular Tamil actor Thalaivasal Vijay will now be called ‘Yugapurushan’ Vijay in Kerala. Why? The actor has given an astonishing performance as social reformer Sree Narayana Guru in director R. Sukumaran's period film Yugapurushan, possibly the best performance in his 18 year old career.

Thalaivasal Vijay pulls his role off with aplomb, portraying the different emotions of Narayana Guru, especially a shocked and disturbed Guru on knowing the news of Kumaran Asan’s death and a subdued and desperate Guru following infighting within the organisation that he founded.

Vijay’s performance has been greatly appreciated and audiences are so impressed by Vijay’s act as the guru, that they have started identifying this Tamil actor as Yugapurushan Vijay in Kerala. We wish Vijay all the best in his future endeavours!
