Yavarum Nalam: A thriller

True, the film has taken quite a bit of time to acquire shape and status. But for every extra hour of work put into it, Yaavarum Nalam has turned out to be a complete entertainer. 

Made as 13B in Hindi and Yaavarum Nalam in Tamil, the film has pan-Indian hero Maddy and Bollywood girl Neetu Chandra in lead roles. Tamil audiences are definitely not new to horrifying tales. Depending on the times and trends that have influenced the industry, so many have come and gone, but only some of them have remained in audiences' minds. Then, among the mind-blowing, spooky lot, what is so special about Yaavarum Nalam? The specialty lies in the movie’s theme.

Yaavarum Nalam revolves around a family that gets greatly influenced by a TV show titled â€˜Sab Khairiyat’. The programme exerts an unseen yet morbid effect on the family and its members. What happens next and how the innocent viewers get affected is told in an absolutely creepy fashion.

With an undercurrent of horror, the story was discussed between director Vikram Kuamr and hero Maddy for about three years before it took an appealing shape. Sequence by sequence, the film is shot simultaneously in both languages and excepting the lead cast, the actors are completely different in both languages.

Uprooting itself from repetitive and boring trends, the Yaavarum Nalam crew has certainly put together its efforts to bring forth something new and refreshing! Get ready to be spooked!
