Yaavarum Nalam: Absolute hit!
Multilingual actor Madhavan's recent bilingual horror thriller Yaavarum Nalam (13B in Hindi), directed by Vikram K. Kumar, has completed 100 days at theatres with a total gross collection of over Rs. 13 crores. The film was simultaneously released in Tamil and Hindi on March 6.
Yaavarum Nalam revolves around a family of eight members: Manohar (Madhavan), his mother (Saranya), his wife Priya (Neetu Chandra), his elder brother (Sanjay Bokaria), sister-in-law (Ameetha), his nephew, niece and younger sister. This happy close-knit family moves into a new apartment 13B on the thirteenth floor of a newly-constructed building. Like any family, the women in this household are TV soap addicts and their latest obsession is a serial called 'Yaavarum Nalam'.
Produced by Sujatha Cine Arts, Yaavarum Nalam marked the Tamil debut of leading Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra, who starred in the Hindi films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!. Yaavarum Nalam was also screened on June 13th at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Looks like the number 13 has been very lucky for Madhavan and director Vikram K. Kumar. Already there are talks that a sequel is being planned, but Madhavan has chosen to remain tightlipped and the suspense is only building up!
