Will Yadhumaghi be another Amaravathy?

Chola S. Ponnurangham is the key person who brought Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar, fondly called Thala by his fans, to Tamil cinema with Amaravathy. Chola Creations Pvt. Ltd., his production company, has given Thalai Vasal, Sathi Sanam, Kaalat Padai and Oru Kalloriyin Kathai among others. Their latest production is Yadhumaghi directed by R. Balakumar.

Yadhumaghi is a love story with newcomer Sachin playing the lead role opposite Sunaina of Kadhalil Vizhunthen fame. Sachin is an ad film director who has worked with several senior technicians in the industry. Producer Azhagan Tamil Mani, who made his acting debut playing Arya's father in Naan Kadavul, has a vital role to play in Yadhumaghi. Ramesh Khanna, Paandu, Kausi Raja Manickam, Sharmi, Poochi Senthil and others are part of the cast. Riyaz Khan, after having reprised his role as the investigative officer in Ghajini, plays a character responsible for the twist in the story.

James Vasanthan composes music for Yadhumaghi. His scores for Subramaniyapuram and Pasanga proved to be blockbuster hits and he might achieve a hat trick with this movie. The movie has five songs; for one of them, James has used objects like plastic bottles, steel boxes, air conditioner rims, etc. to deliver a new variety of music. Trash music has been quite famous abroad, but this would be the first time Tamil audiences would experience it. The shooting of the movie commenced last December in Chennai and it is currently being shot in and around Kumbakonam.

R. Balakumar, who handles the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction of Yadhumaghi has been an assistant director to K. Bhagyaraj. Mohammed Nasir does the cinematography and art direction is by T. Santhanam. Galatta wishes Yadhumaghi will becomes a huge hit like Amaravathy!
