Why is Vijaykanth wearing a wig?

To find an answer to that question (which is definitely not “receding hairline”), to go to Mariyadhai press meet videos. Within the first minute of play, the secret behind his wig is revealed!

In Mariyadhai, Vijaykanth teams up with Vikraman – the director who almost won him a National Award for Vanathai Pola. In this video, director Vikraman also speaks about why Vijaykanth missed the award.

Mariyadhai is yet another family drama from Vikraman, whoprefers making films based on family sentiments. The film stars Vijaykanth in dual roles, as father and son. It has an impressive cast, including Meena, Meera Jasmine, Ambika, Sampath, Nasser, Shanmuga Rajan, Nizhalgal Ravi, Ramesh Kanna, Thalaivasal Vijay and Ammu.

Interestingly, the film’s music is by Vijay Anthony, whose trademark funky tunes (you may think) may not be the rightfitfor a film like Mariyadhai. But remember, the same music director has also given melodious songs like ‘Nenjankoottil’ (Dishyum) and ‘Un Thalaimudi’ (Kadhalil Vizhunden). So Mariyadhai’s background score and songsshould definitelybe pleasantly beautiful. But we will have to wait and see if director Vikraman has used Vijay Anthony’s funky style also in Mariyadhai!

Produced by T. Shiva (Amma Creations) and directed by Vikraman, Mariyadhai is a wholesome family entertainer.
