Welfare board for Tamil cine workers

In a commendable move to extend welfare measures to all big screen and mini screen workers in the state, the Tamil Nadu government has set up a welfare board on Tuesday.

The setting up of the welfare board follows Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi’s announcement in this regard at a function in Chennai on October 9.

The welfare board will be headed by the information minister and its members will include movie producers, actors, directors and representatives of workers.
