In a press meet today, the TFPC head Vishal had some hot statements to make regarding piracy and the future of Tamil cinema.

“We want both the central government and the state government to take immediate action. If they don’t do so, we will go on an indefinite strike from May 30th onwards. The box office collections will be open from now on and anyone can know what a movie collected,” said Vishal in a stern tone. He added that government should take steps to make people realize that watching pirated copy of movies is a crime and they should make them realize it.

Vishal could probably be hinting at a filing a case on not only pirate sites but also those who download and watch it. The issue is not only in Tamil Nadu but around the globe and there aren’t any strong laws on citizens to stop it so far. He also wanted government to ban all illegal piracy sites just like they banned adult websites.

“Our aim is to clean up the system and create transparency in both the producer council and the actors council. Actors don’t demand high salary but producers fix it based on their convenience. Government should also permit owners to open small theaters to help small budget films,” he concluded at the TFPC press meet held today.
