Venkat Prabhu: I want uncle Ilayaraja to sing for me

“It has been my longstanding wish to make my uncle Ilayaraja to sing in one of my films. I have always admired him. He is a tremendously talented music director,” says Venkat Prabhu, the man of the hour.

And it looks like Venkat Prabhu will realize his longstanding wish in Goa. It is heard that he has approached maestro Ilayaraja – who is his father Gangai Amaran’s elder brother – to sing a song in his upcoming film Goa and that the maestro has agreed happily.

For Venkat Prabhu, who grew up listening to the sweet music of his uncle, this is�his way of paying a tribute to him. Little did Venkat imagine in his younger days that he would grow into a big-time moviemaker who would make his uncle sing for him! It will be a very emotional and memorable day for this uncle and nephew pair when they record the song for Goa.
