Vedha: Father-son relationship

The father-son relationship has always attracted a lot of attention through the ages. The conflict that erupts when the son starts to spread his wings and question his father's authority has spawned much literature and in recent times, many films and songs revolve around this ageless relationship.

Vedha, a short film by Vanvazhi Mission and Shepherd India Media P. Ltd. examines the heartbreak and agony that results from any father-son relationship. This 90-minute tele-film talks of Vedha's (the protagonist) relationship with his domineering father and overbearing siblings, overflowing with sentiments and the inevitable clashes between the growing boy and the older and 'wiser' family members. The film moves to a heart rending climax that tries to give answers to the questions relating to the father-child relationship.

Written and directed by J. Ramesh, Balabharthy has composed music, Nagakrishnan and Muthu have handled the camera while R. Ashwin has edited the film. Vivek, Ashwathy, Vincent Roy, Priya, Sonia, Kitcha, Joy and John Paul have given deep and moving performances for this film produced by John Paul.
