Vamanan: Jai’s next film

Jai of Subramaniapuram and Chennai 600028 fame is all set to join the elite heroes of Kollywood soon. On one side, this handsome hero, who has a striking resemblance to Vijay, is acting in Adhe Neram Adhe Idam and he is also signing movies (based on their merit). Just a few weeks after signing Aval Peyar Tamizharasi, Jai has signed yet another film, Vamanan.

Vamanan is about the travails of a young man who aspires to be a film hero, travails which have been narrated in a very attractive manner. Vamanan is claimed to be the action film that will project Jai as Kollywood’s next action hero. He will be paired up with Priya Anand, a newcomer, a model and native of Chennai (a rare occurrence as most film heroines today are imports from either North or Kerala).

Produced by R. Ravindran for Dream Valley Corporation which is also making Ayirathil Oruvan, Vamanan will prove to be a wholesome entertainer. Ahamed, a talented assistant director of Kadhir, has written the story and screenplay. He will also write the dialogues and direct the film.

The film has all the elements that constitute a successful commercial film, especially music which will be composed by Yuvanshankar Raja. Na. Muthukumar will write the lyrics. Arvind Krishna, who handled the camera for Kuselan, will be Vamanan’s cinematographer. Stunt Siva choreographs all the stunts of this film.

The first phase of filming begins soon in Chennai and the subsequent phases will be in Coimbatore and Salakkudi. Some important scenes of the film as well as songs will be filmed in Singapore, South Africa and New Jersey.
