Vaaranam Aayiram Music launched
After a long wait the music of Aascar Films' Vaaranam Aayiram saw the light of day (or shall we say a rainy evening!). The movie brings Gautham Menon and Suriya together once again after Kaaka Kaaka. The music launch function was held at Sathyam Cinemas yesterday evening. Despite the heavy rains and a late start, the event was well attended by celebs and fans. Hosted by director Gautham himself, the event was like a family get-together.
The music was released by the people who were directly or indirectly involved with the movie. Instead of releasing the CD as a whole, each song was released by a celebrity. The first song was released by veteran actor Sivakumar. The actor was full of praise for his son and the hard work he had put in to act in this film.

The other songs were released by Mr. Bakshi from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (some part of the film has been shot in the IMA), Soundarya Rajinikanth (she is making her next film with Gautham), director Sasikumar (admirer and friend of Gautham), squash champion Deepika (she was offered a role in Vaaranam Aayiram), producer Udayanidhi Stalin and the children of Gautham Menon, Rathnavelu, Anthony, Harris Jayaraj and Ganesh (executive producer).
The album was finally released by producer Ramkumar in the presence on Sony BMG's Ashok and Nandhini; actors Sathayraj, Prakashraj, Nasser, Meena, Divya Spandana, Lizzy Priyadarshan and Prithviraj (Bablu); directors Dharani, K.S. Ravikumar, Karu Palaniappan, Ameer, Vasanth and Radha Mohan; camerman R.D. Rajasekar, editor Anthony, art director Rajeevan, singers Sudha Raghunathan, Naresh Iyer and Devan and lyricist Thamarai. Also present at the occasion were cinematographer K.V. Anand, director-actor Samudhrakanni, director Priya V., actor Dushyanth and others.
Three trailers and two songs were screened at the launch. The beautiful images, the sneak peek into the performances, the inspiring visuals, the heart-touching dialogues have all increased curiosity levels for the film.
