The film, directed by debutante Manikandan, a former associate of Vetrimaaran, has Siddharth and debutant Ashrita in lead roles. Vetrimaaran has written the script, handled the screenplay and penned the dialogues. Music has been composed by GV Prakash, who feels that Yaaro Ivan is one of the best romantic songs he has ever made. Udhayam-NH4 is jointly being produced by Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Film Company and Dhayanidhi Azhagiri's Meeka Entertainment.
