Two Pongal releases for Karthik

Karthik made quite an impressive debut with Paruthiveeran in the direction of Ameer. The movie was a super duper hit in India and abroad, and audiences were left eagerly awaiting Karthik’s next movie. However, Aayirathil Oruvan directed y Selvaraghavan, which Karthik signed on next, has taken close to two years to make – even now the movie is being fine tuned in post production. Since the movie is a period film combined with the element of fantasy, lots of special effects work was necessary and Selva insists it’s the CG work that has caused the delay. Meanwhile, Karthik began his third movie Paiyya in the direction of Lingusamy. Paiyya’s music album will release in the third week of December and the movie is expected to hit screens on Pongal next year. And now, we hear that Selva intends to release Aayirathil Oruvan on Pongal too! Other tentative Pongal releases include Ajith’s Asal and Venkat Prabhu’s Goa. Looks like Pongal 2010 will be crammed with cine excitement as well!
