Even about a decade back, just a handful of actresses dominated the film industry. But today we find more stylish and confident ladies making their debuts every day. Many actresses find it hard to survive due to intense competition and lack of meaningful roles.
But there are others who are always popular because they are either considered lucky or for their immense popularity with audiences. It does not matter even if their last film did not fare too well at the box office. Producers always feel their on-screen presence enhances the film's success and creates wonders.

Trisha: This lady needs no introduction. Even if her last three releases weren't blockbusters, she still seems to make heads turn, and is now into performance-based roles. It is rumoured that she will soon be seen in a Bollywood flick opposite Akshay Kumar. She is the number one in Telugu and Tamil now. With her radiant smile, Trisha has managed to capture the hearts of many men, who watch all her movies without fail on the first day itself!
Nayantara: The actress has now paired opposite Suriya for her next flick Aadhavan (Tamil). Popular in Telugu, she has decided to try her luck in Malayalam too. With every film, she seems to be reaching greater heights. She sure does have a plan in place to make 2009 her most successful year. Nayantara has several hits to her credit, and has big plans for the future.
Tamannaah: Although a late entrant to Kollywood, Tamannaah has been considered lucky especially after her latest hit Ayan opposite Suriya. She will soon be seen with Ilayathalapathy Vijay for his 50th film. Tamannaah's strength has been her cheerful nature and she has emerged as the next best alternative in Tamil and Telugu. The lady has plans to try out other languages as well. Tamannaah believes in taking one step at a time as she seems to be in no hurry.
Anushka: She made her debut opposite Madhavan in Rendu, and now has reached dizzying heights after Arundhathi. She has Vettaikaran opposite Vijay and Singam opposite Suriya keeping her busy. Many film-makers would love to cast her for their next venture, as they have realized her potential. She is known for her professionalism on the sets, and knows exactly what is demanded of her.
