This is It DVD releasing on January 26

Legendary pop singer Michael Jackson's musical entertainment movie This is It, which was released worldwide on October, will be released in DVD format on January 26, 2010. This is also the date on which the Blu-ray Disc will be released.

The DVD version of This Is It will have numerous mini-documentaries and other special extras to lure viewers. According to reports, the Blu-ray Disc also will also include two versions each of the Jackson music videos "Smooth Criminal" and "Thriller".

The DVD will carry a suggested retail price of $28.96 and the Blu-ray version a price of $39.95. A PlayStation Portable disc is also in the pipeline, which is to be priced at $24.94.

Sony’s This Is It has earned around $71 million in the domestic box office since debuting in theatres on October 28, and the studio’s plans for its home video release have been the subject of considerable speculation.

Many people were in the opinion that Sony should have released the DVDs in time for the Christmas gift season, but Sony had some other plans on its mind and has deferred the release to January 26, 2010.
