Thanthonny: Sheela's second film

After the flop of her maiden Malayalam venture Mayabazaar (2008) oppositte Mammootty in the lead, child artiste-turned-heroine Sheela is pinning her hopes on her second Malayalam film Thanthonny, being directed by debutant George Varghese with Prithviraj in the lead. Sheela will play a junior scientist named Helen.

The film revolves around a brat Kochu Kunju (Prithviraj), the youngest member of the wealthy Vadakkan Veettil family. It is a huge joint family with his mother, three uncles and their families. All the family members are well-placed and rich, except for Kochu Kunju, who later becomes a victim of circumstance. Sheela will be sees as a bubbly tomboy who loves everything about Kochu Kunju, including his wayward lifestyle.

Mimicry artiste-turned-actor Kalabhavan Mani plays a goonda called Neelakantan. Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan, Captain Raju and Suresh Krishna also play important roles in this film, produced by Vyshakha Rajan and scripted by T.A. Shahid. Lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery and T.A. Shahid have been composed by Tej Mervin.
