Television actor Vasanth passes away!
Vasanth, seasoned actor of megaserials and one-hour plays telecast in Doordarshan and various satellite channels, passed away recently. His sudden death was caused by cardiac arrest. Vasanth was the president of the 'Chinnathirai Nadigar Sangam' for a considerable period of time and was also the person responsible for setting up the organisation. Soft-spoken and always at service to his co-actors and their families, Vasanth was engaged in a whole lot of charitable activities till his death. Though he was introduced into films by Bharathi Raja in Mella Paesungal, after a short stint in movies, Vasanth moved on to television. He played a memorable role in the recently-released Yaavarum Nalam. "When I wanted to rope in a TV actor, I could not see beyond Vasanth," says director Vikram Kumar. The entire television fraternity shocked by the actor's premature death and fondly remembers all his help and support to most of them.
