Subramaiyapuram: Music Review
Subramaiyapuram is an inspirational venture introducing three new actors, Sashikumar, Jai and Swathi, to Kollywood. TV-fame James Vasanthan's compositions comprise a crisp set comprising five songs. The first track, 'Kadhal Siluvayil Araindhal Ennai', sung by Shankar Mahadevan, is a touching solo. The next song, 'Kangal Irandhal', has amazing lyrics. Belly Raj and Deepa Mariyam adorn it suitably with their rendering. 'Theneeril Snehitham' by Benny Dayal too offers a lyrical delight. 'Madera Kulunga Kulunga' by Suchitra, Velmurugan and Madurai Bhanumathi will be everyone's favourite in the album. Not only is the combination of voices contrasting, the song makes one sit up and get involved enthusiastically. Much like the previous song, 'Subraniyapuram Theme' track, this is also a folk mix.
The debut album reflects Vasanthan's well-developed talent.
