South Indian Filmfare awards on July 31st
The Annual edition of Filmfare awards which recognises excellence in South Indian cinema will be held on the 31st July in Hyderabad. This is the 56th edition of the Filmfare awards for films released in 2008.
The Filmfare Awards ceremony is one of the oldest and most prominent film events to recognise significant contributions made by artistes and technicians.
Filmfare Awards South are the southern version of the annual Filmfare Awards, and are given for films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films from India. They are given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry.
The award is considered to be the most prestigious, and will be hosted jointly by Idea Cellular and Filmfare magazine. Many eminent film personalities are expected to participate from all the four South Indian states.
