Sona, the empowered woman

Who said an item dancer can do nothing but dress provocatively and gyrate equally suggestively? Sona, who has made a name in the South cinema industry as a glam gal, ready to don skimpy clothes for single song numbers, is a shrewd business woman. She has a designer store in Chennai and is getting set to launch a jewellery store in Hyderabad in January next year. But the latest goop about the actress is that she is following Rakhi Sawant’s footsteps and considering going on TV for a swayamvar to pick herself a husband!

“To be frank, I am the kind of woman who enjoys her freedom. I love to do things my way and face life on my own terms. I don’t have faith in men and even less faith in marriage. Right now my life is full and satisfying – acting, production and business keep me well-occupied. As for the swayamvar, given my lack of trust in men and marriage, I have to give it lots of thought,” she informs.
