Singer S. Janaki has miraculous escape
Noted playback singer S. Janaki had a miraculous escape when the car in which she was travelling met with an accident a couple of days back. The accident took place near Pollachi, when the driver of her car lost control and rammed a motorbike.
S. Janaki, who was with her son Badrinath, suffered minor injuries. She was immediately admitted to a nearby nursing home and later discharged.
The legendary female playback singer has sung in many Indian languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Janaki is also a lyricist and a composer and has won several awards at State and National levels.
This year, a Honorary Doctorate was conferred on her by Mysore University for her tremendous contribution to Kannada film songs background singing.
