SC issues notice to TN on Dam 999 issue

The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Tamil Nadu government as a result of the petition filed by Sohan Roy, who is the director of Dam 999. Roy filed the petition seeking lifting of ban which is imposed on the movie by the TN government.

The movie Dam 999 was banned in Tamil Nadu as it was thought to be based on the Mullaiperiyar dam issue. Meanwhile Sohan Roy condemned the ban as a 'challenge' to anyone's creativity. He also clarified that the movie did not portray the current Mullaiperiyar dispute between TN and Kerela rather the movie is about a dam disaster.
