Sarvvam: Music review!
Director Vishnuvardhan still carries the repute and success of Billa with him. With that aura intact, Vishnuvardhan is back with his next film Sarvvam. Similar to Billa, Sarvvam too sports tremendous star-power. Dolly-girl Trisha and lover-boy Arya play the lead roles in this hi-fi, contemporary romance. Youth musical icon Yuvanshankar Raja has composed the music.
Maintaining the trend displayed in most of his recent albums, Yuvan has sung the first song in the Sarvvam album. ‘Neethane’ simply brings forth his unique style of singing. The next, ‘Siragugal’ by Madhushree and Javed Ali, reflects a bunch of freewheeling emotions. The touch of loneliness and longing in Javed’s voice accentuates the feeling further. The lyrics of ‘Suttal Suriyane’, the next number in the album, inject a lot of verve and vitality into our spirits. Vijay Yesudas has sung it with a natural penchant and energy. ‘Kaatrukkulle’ is also by Yuvan. Though basically a slow-moving and sorrowful tune, the song’s mood and Yuvan’s voice share an inexplicable camaraderie with his fans and listeners. The last song, ‘Adada Vaa’, is by the maestro himself. Ilayaraja’s voice and the tuneful composition is so resonant and impressive that it just seeps through our spirits and what is the resulting effect? We feel rejuvenated and musically satisfied.
Yuvan’s compositions for Sarvvam are filled with a consuming passion and the effect is certainly going to be long-lasting. Ilayaraja's rendition of course is its chief highlight.
