Samida: Made in Kasi
Samida (also referred to as Sameda) is a film about how a woman brings about a change in a ruffian’s life. Though it sounds like a concept done to death, the difference lies in the screenplay; the way the subject has been handled will keep you engrossed. Also, Samida traces a parallel but connected story – the clash between two sects and the protagonist’s involvement in it. The entire film has been shot in Kasi, a holy pilgrimage centre for Hindus.
Samida is made with newcomers Sembi and Tanusha, who have given a commendable performance. Vadivudaiyan, who had been an assistant to famous Malayalam director Shaji Kailash, has written the film’s story, screenplay, dialogues, songs, and also directs it. Srinivasa Reddy is the cameraman. Music is by Indrajith, a talented new music director in Kollywood. The audio of Samida was launched recently.
The film covers all the elements of a commercial cinema and provides wholesome entertainment according to its director.
