Robot becomes Enthiram

Shankar’s magnum opus with Rajinikanth has now been renamed Enthiram. Why this change of name? Since Tamil movies enjoy a tax rebate only if they have purely Tamil titles. Since many in the film industry have burnt their fingers with Kuselan, Shankar and Co. are taking extra precautions about the success of this movie.

For Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Enthiram will be her first film with Rajni. She is expected to join the unit in South America (where most of the unit has already gone) for the first schedule which is going to start soon.  Rajni too will be joining the Enthiram unit in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on September 7th.

Insiders say that Rajni wanted a small puja for the film’s launch on auspicious Vinayaka Chaturthi, away from the media glare. Many experts say that though Kuselan was a great film, the overexposure led audiences, especially Rajni’s fans, to expect something more than was on offer.

Since it is Rajni’s fans who make or break his movies, his onscreen presence for only about an hour caused intense disappointment for his fans, who were expecting to be carried away by their idol for two and a half hours.
