RJ Balaji is one person who has never shied away from expressing his thoughts. At the India Today Conclave yesterday in Chennai, when Puducherry Governer pointed out that Jallikattu has cruelty and such traditions have to be thrown away, RJ Balaji chipped in to give a fitting reply. "The elephants standing during the Pooram in Kerala and the camels carrying trucks of goods in Gujarat, are they happy," he asked. "Ban all the animal cruelty acts then, why only us." He also pointed out to ban the beef and leather exports as it involves torturing of animals. Even, Kiran Bedi was wearing a leather shoe at the event.

To this Kiran Bedi said, " We have to learn to respect the law, let's abide by Supreme court's order." To this Balaji replied, "The same Supreme Court has directed a state to give us water, but nobody abides by that."
