Renigunta gets 'A' certificate

Director Panneerselvam's Renigunta, which had reportedly been referred to the Revising Committee in Mumbai after the Chennai Regional Censor Board refused a censor certificate for showing violent and gruesome scenes enacted by children in graphic detail, has been given an 'A' certificate. The film is based on young juveniles escaping from home to go to Mumbai in a train.

Made under the banner of Film Fabricators with newcomers (including producer S.S. Chakravarthy’s son Johnny as hero), Renigunta will hit screens on December 4. According to sources, the film, rumoured to be inspired by City of God, is reported to portray excessive violence and gruesome slayings.

Ganesh Raghavendra is the music director. Na. Muthukumar is the lyrist. Almost all the songs in this album have become sensational hits at audio markets and the film’s trailer has raised everyone’s expectations.
