Ranjith in Rayilu

Ranjith became a director with Beeshmar. But his ambitions as an actor were not fulfilled, since his debut as hero in Sindhu Nadhi Poo did not fetch him further offers. He has now decided to direct another movie, tentatively titled Rayilu, in which he will also act.

A.K. Media Vision is producing the film on a lavish scale. Caroline and Yuvarani will spice up the screen as Ranjith's heroines. Vinoth, Illavarasu, Vadivukarasi, Balu Anand and Lakshmanan are in the supporting star cast.

Lohitadas has penned the story and Saalai Sagathevan is the cinematographer. Nalla Thambi has composed the music, dance choreography is by S.S. Balaji and Ajayraj and lyrics are by Snehan, Kadhal Madhi and Tamizh Madhan. R.D. Annadurai is editing the film. Ranjith, of course, is in charge of screenplay, dialogues and production.

Rayilu is the remake of Malayalam hit film Sallabam which Lohitadas directed and which earned received a lot of recognition. It was also remade in Telugu as Egire Pavurama, which was also a huge hit.

Rayilu is being shot in Mettur, Kovai and Kolathur which are famed for their pastoral beauty. The film's makers plan to release the light-hearted romance on February 14th, Valentine's Day.
