Rakta Charitra coming in August

Director-screenwriter-producer Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming trilingual Rakta Charitra, starring Vivek Oberoi, Suriya, Shatrughan Sinha, Priyamani and Radhika Apte in the lead roles, is close to completion and will hit screens simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu by August, the director informed recently while interacting with media in Chennai.

Speaking on the occasion, Ram Gopal Varma said, "I’ve always been interested with topics that deal with the dark side. This movie is based on true incidents that occurred in interior Andhra Pradesh. I wanted to make this movie in many languages as it needs to be told to as many people as possible. It is a violent film but the violence is in the emotion. It has individualistic and extreme characters."

Actor Suriya, who was also present, said: "I found a message in my inbox saying ‘I loved your intensity in Kaakha Kaakha.’ It was from RGV. I had always wanted to meet him. After reading that mail, I met him and we’ve been good friends since. For a long time, I’ve wanted to work with him and then, Rakta Charitra happened. This film is not fantasy. It is inspired by the life of a person who still exists. I play the character of Suri in this film. This is my first pan India film; still, for me, this is a Tamil film."
