Rajinikanth lauds Y.G. Mahendran

“Swadesi Iyer” is a play by eminent playwright and comedy actor Y.G. Mahendran. Completing 50 shows in a short span of 5 months, the play has been doing extremely well in the city.

Recently, superstar Rajinikanth saw this play and�was full of praise for Y.G. Mahendran. The effect of the play lingered on the superstar’s mind so much�that he sent Y.G. Mahendran a letter which�lauded his efforts and ideas effusively. Rajinikanth also appreciated the crew’s skills and wished them all good luck for completing 100 successful shows.

Actor-dramatist Y.G. Mahendran was deeply moved by superstar’s appreciation. He said that he felt he was floating on cloud nine because of superstar’s praise and appreciation. He said all this attention from the superstar has given him and his troupe enough encouragement to deliver stellar performances on stage in the upcoming shows and to make more plays as effective as “Swadesi Iyer”.

Y.G. Mahendran is a good friend�of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, and has teamed up with them on screen, turning their films into laugh-riots. He�acted alongside Rajni in films like Naan Sigappu Manithaan and Nallavanukku Nallavan.
