It is raining accolades for Prakashraj
Accolades have been pouring in from all quarters for Prakashraj, the man of the moment. Basking in the glory of a National award, Prakashraj says this award is a victory for Tamil cinema. Prakashraj had the gut feeling that this could be a winner even when director Priyadarshan narrated the storyline.More than his award, the actor is delighted that Kanchivaram had bagged the Swarna Kamal award.
To accept this role, he had to decline at least six commercial movies and sacrifice the high remuneration involved, but now he has no regrets. "Doing Kanchivaram was the best thing that could have happened to me. The film changed my perception to life and I am much wiser after the experience,†says Prakashraj, known for his forthright speech. In the same breath, he acknowledges the work of all the other directors who moulded him.
Call it luck or destiny, the offer from Priyadarshan came to Prakashraj only on the rebound. Mohanlal was the first choice, but the megastar could not provide the required the dates, so Mohanlal's loss became Prakashraj's gain.
