Pune Film Institute closed due to H1N1 scare
The prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, has been closed for a week due to the spread of influenza A (H1N1) virus, an official said on Wednesday. According to latest reports, 12 people, including two in Mumbai and one in Nashik, have died of H1N1 virus in Maharashtra so far.
"As per the government of Maharashtra, the District Collector and minister's directions, all educational institutes in Pune have been closed for a week, and even FTII has followed suit to the order," an FTII official said on condition of anonymity. Institute director Pankaj Rag was unavailable for comment.
