Prakashraj in Hindi flick!

Prakashraj is busy shooting for his Hindi flick Wanted: Dead and Alive, a remake of the Tamil film Pokkiri starring Vijay. The Hindi version is directed by Prabhu Deva, the director of the Tamil version who has proved that he is an excellent director in addition to being a talented choreographer and dancer par excellence.

Prakashraj has been the most sought-after villain in many films. Apart from acting in commercial films, he has also worked in films like Mozhi, Abhiyum Naanum and Kanchivaram, which earned him critical acclaim. He has worked in several films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. He has also won several awards including two national awards – one for the Best supporting actor in Iruvar and also a special jury award for his exemplary performance in Dhaya – his first directorial venture. He is also a famous film producer.

Prakashraj was born in Mangalore and his mother tongue is Tulu. He shifted his base to Chennai due to numerous offers in Tamil films. He was persuaded to change his last name from Rai to Raj by veteran South Indian director K. Balachander.
