P.L. Thenappan's journey takes him to Cannes

Producer P.L. Thenappan, maker of many films, is one man who believes in asssociating himself with clean entertainment. He worked as a production executive earlier and was also the co-producer for several films involving Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Superstar Rajinikanth. Some of his most notable films include Panchathanthiram, Pammal K. Sambandham, Thenali, Padayappa, etc.

Sri Rajalakshmi Films Pvt. Ltd. is his banner and is currently involved in several projects. His contribution to Indian cinema is immense and especially in Kollywood, there is no conversation in film circuits without Thenappan's name being mentioned with respect to interesting projects.

He has now produced a short film in French called Ecluse (Water Barrier), directed by Mahendran Bhaskar. The film runs for 15 minutes, and has cinematography by Jeyakeethan Nagaiyah. The cast includes Mahendran Bhaskar, Elmoden Nassima and Abinaya Kaneshtampaia. And now, the film is all set to be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France.

People who have seen the film are already raving about the film's innovative concept and clear storytelling technique. The film is about a child feeling neglected since the child's parents are always busy and find it difficult to bestow the attention it needs. Hence they decide to approach a Child Care Service. Just when they think they have found a solution, they face a real nightmare. How they overcome it forms the remaining part of the story.

Ecluse has been shot with a high definition camera, and this is one more reason to show that Indian cinema is going global.
