Palaivanacholai remake: Megame Megame retained

Palaivanacholai with Suhasini in the all-important female lead struck gold at the box-office. The movie was about the friendship between a lady afflicted by cancer and five jobless aimless youths. Made on a shoestring budget, the movie was a huge hit, mainly due to the musical score of Ilayaraja and the well-etched characters of Suhasini and Vagai Chandrasekhar.

The remake, directed by Dayalan and music by newcomer Bobby, has Karthika and Nitin Sathya donning the important roles. `Megame Megame,' the delightful number of the original, has been retained.

At the audio launch, Rajasekaran (Robert), one of the directors of the original, said it is a safe bet to remake a film with a strong story content rather than an action movie.
