Nayantara reduces fee?
South India's reigning actress Nayantara, whose fee was reportedly more than one crore per film, has been paid Rs. 65 lakh only(!) for her ongoing Telugu flick Anjaneyulu, directed by Parasuram with Ravi Teja as the hero, sources said.
Insiders said Nayantara agreed to slash her fee with newcomers Tamannaah and Anushka breathing down her neck. However, a source close to the actress revealed that Nayantara's willingness to reduce her fee stems from her awareness of the global meltdown. He also said she has charged a very reasonable amount for her upcoming Malayalam film Bodyguard.
Some believe that the back-to-back debacles of Kuselan, Satyam and Aegan might have caused this change of heart in Nayantara. With competition hotting up in even in her home turf Kollywood, she has no other way to survive in the industry, they say.
Meanwhile, Nayantara left for Amsterdam (Netherlands) with hero Ravi Teja and the unit of Anjaneyulu to shoot two songs. Director Parasuram is shooting the songs in Amsterdam, Germany and Austria from the last week of May. The crew will return to Hyderabad and complete the rest of the shooting from the first week of June to July 20. The plan is to release the film in August.
