Nandini out to prove a point

Lady film directors in India are as rare as hen's teeth. Nandini J.S., an associate of Kandha Naal Mudhal-fame director Priya, makes her Kollywood bow in Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru. A Management graduate, Nandini has a grouse that women characters in movies are not depicted in the right way. "Even in a commercial format, one can give movies which are healthy, relevant and entertainment-oriented," says the new entrant.

For Nandini, a gold medallist from the Adyar Film Institute, it was a dream opportunity to make this movie in a digital format with the latest Red One Camera. Starting with a humour film is her conscious decision for the simple reason that her signature entry has to leave an indelible mark on the audience. "The movie is light, but not to be interpreted as a full-length comedy," Nandini clarifies.

The plot is about a boss who gets entangled in a crisis with unexpected help from two of his subordinates."The audience would be able to identify similar situations in their daily lives," says Nandini about the storyline. "Every problem has a solution and you need the right attitude to solve it," said Nandini.
