Nakshathra: Sumithra’s second daughter

Nakshathra! The whole of Kollywood is chanting her name now! She is the daughter of yesteryear heroine Sumithra, who became famous with Buvana Oru Kelvi Kuri. In the latter years of her career, Sumithra even played mom to Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in Panakkaran and Singaravelan respectively. Now, she is introducing her second daughter Nakshathra in Sarigama, a Kannada film.

As beautiful as her mom, Nakshathra is all ready to sizzle in Kollywood as well! Yes, it is heard that she has been deluged with Tamil film offers, but Nakshathra has decided that at present, she will concentrate on her Kannada film.

Nakshathra’s sister, Uma, was also an actress. She did a few of movies in Kollywood before getting married and retiring from films. She was very popular for her demure looks and roles. But Nakshatra seems to be the modernized version of Uma and unlike her sister might opt for glamorous roles!
