Nai Kutty: Movie launch on September 24th

Nai Kutty – the film for which actor Prasanna lived in slums in order to prepare for his role as a slum dweller – will start filming from September 24th. The dedicated actor has even changed his hairstyle and body language to portray a slum dweller exactly.

The film pairs him with Nicole. Santhanam is his sidekick. The film is produced by V.A. Durai, who produced National Award winner Pithamagan. S.S. Joe, who was the assistant director of Katradhu Tamizh, directs this film. He also has the distinction of being an associate of director Jananathan.

The film is all about the protagonist Nai Kutty, who was abandoned as a child and brought up in a slum by a rickshaw man. Since he was found by his foster father amidst a flock of puppy dogs, he is named Nai Kutty.

Slum dwellers, though a downtrodden section of society, are of utmost importance for the success of a political party or even a film, since they constitute about 25 to 30% of the populace. And this is the idea reflected in Nai Kutty. Producer V.A. Durai promises that the film portrays them respectfully and in a never-seen-before angle.

Sundar C. Babu scores the film’s music and lyrics are by Snegan and Yugabharathi. Sabakumar handles the camera. S.S. Joe, the director, has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues.
