Mysskin: Nandalala’s success is sure

For filmmakers, a long wait to release their completed films is perhaps the most-dreaded�happening – the�period forces them to battle with their own imagination, fearing everything that could go wrong. But Mysskin is one director who never loses his composure. His masterpiece Nandalala was completed in January and is yet to be released. But the director remains as cool as a cucumber. That's because Mysskin and Ayngaran International clearly know that they have made a film whose success was�sure right during its inception.

“I know very well that Nandalala will tug at�audiences' heartstrings. I am sure about its success, as today’s audiences want films of this calibre. But the reason I am delaying the film’s release is that I do not want extraneous factors affecting the outcome – we have got exams and IPL coming up. These days, timing the film’s release is more challenging than making it,” says the director with a chuckle. Meanwhile, Mysskin has reportedly decided to�put this time to good use to edit the film and enhance it further.

Mysskin knows very well how the tastes of cinemagoers have changed today. Years ago, offbeat themes and multiplex movies were�unthinkable. These days, films like Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu and Subramaniapuram, which have down-to-earth stories – something which the audience can relate to –�achieve success more often than the films with unbelievable stories and big stars!

Speaking about the experiences of two unlikely friends – a 30-year-old�retarded man and an 8-year-old boy – Nandalala has spurred everyone’s curiosity. Perfectly enhanced by an excellent symphony scored by Ilayaraja, the film is sure to appeal to�all viewers.
