Meera and Reema showdown

Remember the hit song ‘Chaturyam pesathadi….en salangaikku pathil solladi’, from Vanjikottai Valiban, in which Vyjayanthibala Bali and Padmini had a showdown? The song is famous and talked-about even today, not only for the two dancing divas but also for P.S. Veerappa’s dialogue “Sabaash, sariyana potti”. The film starred Gemini Ganesan.

In the same fashion, Meera Jasmine and Reema Sen had a face-off in a song with their dancing skills�pitted against each other. It was for the Telugu film Yamagola. This double bonanza was enjoyed by�the Telugu�audience. Now it is the turn of Tamil audiences to get enamoured by these two divas dancing together in one song as the film is being dubbed in Tamil and will be released under the name Indraloka Ilavarasan. This song is full of glamour. It is said that the Censor Board had to use its scissors 32 times on this song!

This film is a comedy subject with Reema Sen and Meera Jasmine contributing heavily to the film’s glamour quotient. The film is about a celestial prince who comes�to earth on a mission but is embroiled in a messy situation when he falls in love with a cabaret dancer played by Reema Sen.
